Cash Back websites

Cash back websites allow you to save money on purchases you were already going to make. I have sorted through them all and found my favorite. Here is a link to my favorite cashback website:
Mr. Rebates

Click the link above to sign up for your savings. Using this website, you can save at thousands of stores, including 2% at Walmart.com, 3% at Buy.com, 3% at iTunes and 2% at Victoria's Secret. As a bonus, you will receive a FREE $5 in your account, just for signing up!

After becoming a member of the website, you can start earning cashback on your purchases.

The following text will give an example of how to do so on Buy.com. Simply log in, and click 'All Stores' near the top left of the screen, as shown below:

Next, click the 'B' button, as shown below. This will take you to all stores beginning with 'B'.

You can then scroll down the alphabetical list to 'Buy.com' and click on the link.

A popup will appear, informing you that your cashback is being tracked. You can close this popup. You will notice that the window you were in has now changed to buy.com. All you need to do now is shop as you normally do. In a few days, cashback will be posted in your account!

Once you earn at least $10, you can request a check! Checks are sent out at the beginning of the next month, so I recommend waiting until the end of the month to get the most money out of your account as possible during each payment period. I have personally saved hundreds with cashback and you can too!

**Don't forget, you must link to the retailer from this website for each and every purchase in order to receive cashback. (If you make a purchase of three items, and decide after purchasing that you need a fourth, you need to go back and link to the retailer again). It is also important to note that while this website sometimes has coupons available, USING ONLINE COUPON CODES FROM OTHER SOURCES MAY VOID YOUR CASHBACK!

I always recommend this website, as it seems to give the best cashback of all websites. However, if you would like to squeeze every last bit of savings out of this technique, you can compare the amount of cashback given by this website to the amount offered by the following websites. Every once in a while, one of these will do better than the first one:

Cash Back Savings Site #2 (Coupon Cactus)

Cash Back Savings Site #3 (Big Crumbs)

Online Coupon Codes

Coupon codes can be thought of as a digital coupon. Rather than bringing a physical coupon into a store, you type in a code when checking out online. Generally, retailers have a special box for these codes, which may be specific for certain buyers or may be codes able to be used by anyone.

Online Coupon codes are a great alternative when cashback websites do not give cashback on a purchase you want to make. Simply check out Retail Me Not for coupon codes to thousands of websites. RetailMeNot is a websites where users can post their online coupon codes for others to use. Additionally, users can report their success (or lack thereof) with each coupon code, so you don't waste your time with expired or fake coupon codes.

***Again, please note that using coupon codes may void cashback given by websites described above.

Cashback credit cards

Seems like a stupid suggestion, as most of you checking out my website are probably already using cashback credit cards.

However, some are better than others, so I figured I'd mention them.

Most credit cards will give 1%. The following do better than that AND have no annual fee:
- Bank of America Accelerated Cash Rewards American Express card gives 1.25% cash back on ALL purchases

- Chase Freedom Visa card gives 1% (+ 0.1% + 10 cents per transaction if you are a Chase customer) - This is the card I use.
- Fidelity has an American Express card that gives 2% cashback on ALL purchases, but you must have an investment account w/ them.

Slickdeals.net

Slickdeals.net is a great source of amazing deals on the internet.

It is a forum based website. Members (including myself) post deals they find to the website. The 'moderators' then look at the number of views, clicks, etc on a certain deal to determine if it is a 'slickdeal'. If it is a 'slickdeal', it will be posted to the front page.

Here is an example of how it works. I happened to be shopping at KMart, and found that they had 'no beans' Hormel Chili available for $1 a can. Because the non-bean chili is more expensive to produce due to having more meat, sales generally never go cheaper than say around $2 a can. Because it seemed like such a good deal, I posted it to the website. Unfortunately, it wasn't 'slick' enough to become front page material, but many people viewed my post, and were able to get a deal on this chili. Products vary from those bought in a store to those bought online, from food to laptops, etc.

Anything that is considered a deal can be posted to the website, but only the best are put on the front page. Therefore, I make it a habit to check the front page every day.
